The Black Moon Chronicles
Résumé des tomes
Tome 1 : At the center of the empire was the Oracle... The Oracle announced the coming of the one who would change the world. This is his story. One day, when Heads-or-Tails was out roaming the forest, he comes across a nameless man. He christens him Wismerhill, and from that day forth, the pair are inseparable. They start out on the road of adventure, and sooner or later end up joining a gang of amiable war dogs, feared throughout the land. Wismerhill soon proves his worth, and begins to demonstrate some surprising powers. But just as everything is going well, the light comes, bringing darkness in its wake...
Tome 2 : Wismerhill, Heads-or-Tails and Fey, the only survivors of the disastrous battle of Kendhrir, set out on the road to the Oracle, for Wismerhill to learn his fate. But it's not easy. Our heroes are surrounded by the forces of evil as the bitter fight for absolute power begins to gather momentum. Somewhere on this giant chessboard, Wismerhill and his companions find themselves in the place where the dragon winds blow... Will they be able to overcome what they find there?
Tome 3 : Some wait hours, some wait months before they're summoned by the oracle to hear their destiny. But not Wismerhill. He's barely set foot on the sacred site when he hears the call. It seems the oracle had been waiting for him. But Wismerhill doesn't want to know his destiny; he just wants to know where his father is. With new information in hand, the motley crew sets off once again on their travels through strange lands. Little do they suspect the demons that are on their trail...
Tome 4 : Everything seems to be coming together for the terrifying Haazheel Thorn, the Grand Master of the Black Moon, and arch-enemy of the Empire. As he gathers his forces, he sets a dark and duplicitous plan in motion to develop his greatest weapon: Wismerhill. Wismerhill's powers are growing stronger by the day, especially so under the influence of his smoldering demoness lover. But whether these powers will be used for good or evil all depends on how much tragedy the young man can take...
Tome 5 : A great war has been brewing for some time. Now, at last, armies from all sides are marching toward the battlefield. The terrifying Haazheel Thorn is already waiting to meet them, as either friend or foe. Wismerhill and the gang have been wreaking havoc throughout the empire, and the time has come for Wismerhill to choose sides. The Black Moon beckons, Wismerhill complies, and the gates of hell open.
Tome 6 : Following the Empire's latest military victory, Wismerhill is getting used to his newly allocated role as Baron of Moork. There are plenty of complications, and, of course, many who would defy him, although he is not yet aware of the most dangerous threat...
Tome 7 : As Baron Wismerhill, now lord and master of Moork and Horkher, becomes increasingly tied up in running his fiefdoms, he is invited by the emperor to join the priesthood of the Black Moon. But it's not that simple. First, he must pass the test of earth, fire, and water... a test that many don't survive.
Tome 8 : It's a close shave for Wismerhill and his troops when they venture into the eerie Der Hem Shelbem, land of the living-dead. Luckily, Wismerhill has the powerful Black Moon to help him out of tight spots. Meanwhile, the heroic Prince Parsifal decides that it is time for the Order of Justice to make a stand against the corruption plaguing the Order of Light. But how will he do it without too much bloodshed? All he can do is hope and pray for some kind of divine intervention...
Tome 9 : The noble Prince Parsifal has taken things in hand, and all are at peace in the empire. But this is just the calm before the storm. Behind a veil of shadows, Wismerhill and his master Haazheel Thorn are gathering the most terrifying army the world has ever seen. The Black Moon wants Wismerhill to take his power to the next level, but will Wismerhill be prepared to sacrifice his humanity for the sake of such a tempting promotion?
Tome 10 : With his terrifying new powers as High Lord of Negation, Wismerhill and his master, Haazheel Thorn, are finally ready to do battle with the empire. And what a fierce battle it is! Dragons crowd the sky, pouring fire and blood onto the trolls, ogres, elves, and humans engaged in the grueling battle below. They fight long and hard, but all must come to an end at some point. The question is: who will be victorious... and at what price?
Tome 11 : After an epic dual with the Emperor, Wismerhill comes through as victor... and his reward from the Black Moon is more than he ever imagined. He rises to the challenge and begins constructing a new life and a new empire. It is written, after all. But the real question is: what else is written that Wismerhill is yet to discover?
Tome 12 : Wismerhill has finally made it to the top and it seems like nothing more can get in his way. But then he gets a surprise visit from his father, who he thought was dead. The mysterious Prince of Clouds reveals some hard truths that shake up Wismerhill's world and stir him into action. But he has to move fast! The gates of hell have been opened and demonic hoards are wreaking havoc all over the empire. Wismerhill sets out on an urgent quest to save the Earth from absolute destruction.
Tome 13 : Having learned of the Black Moon's diabolical schemes to take over the world with a demon invasion, Wismerhill turns his back on his former master, thwarting his plans by closing the gates of Hell. Now, Wismerhill and his loyal companions know that it is only a matter of time before Haazheel Thorn comes after them. This day could be their last...
Tome 14 : Just when it looks like Wismerhill's struggles might finally be over, he learns of a terrible curse set in motion by the malevolent Haazheel Thorn at the moment of his demise. The entire world is now on the brink of catastrophe. This could be the end of everything... but will it be the end of Wismerhill and his companions?
Tome 15 : The Gateway has been closed on the wreckage of a dead past, and the millions of survivors have a new world to explore. Civilization must be completely rebuilt under the authority of Methraton, marking the dawn of a new order. Will Wismerhill at last be free to choose his destiny? Or will he succumb to the perils of the future and the shadows of yesteryear who wish his downfall?
Tome 16 : Terra Secunda, a new world, a second and final chance. Wismerhill is leading the efforts to save humanity and create a whole new civilization. It's a monumental task, already shrouded in the shadows of sedition, demons, and the vast Ophidian clan. After all, this is the snakes' planet, and they plan on keeping it that way!
Tome 17 : As Wismerhill struggles to get his empire up and running, a terrible threat looms over the future of humanity. The great Ophidian tribe has decided to wipe the new arrivals off the face of Terra Secunda. Countless reptilian legions advance, wreaking havoc on outlying settlements. Wismerhill will soon have no choice but to defend his empire.
Tome 18 : After transforming into a titan and vanquishing his enemies, Wismerhill has fallen, brought down by a power too great for him to control. This vast power has made an ephemeral God of him. Still, he is but a man, and he must return to mortality in order to continue his reign as emperor of the Opal Throne.
Tome 19 : An ordinary week for Emperor Wismerhill the First isn't, oddly enough, all that ordinary... Especially when it begins with a visit from a god who shouldn't actually exist...
Tome 20 : Humanity's survival is in his hands, and being the emperor of the world is no picnic... But other fears have been invading Wismerhill's dreams of late, telling him to get ready, for something is coming... some cruel and merciless evil. The premonitions whisper of a nameless threat... and of death!
